The Gypsy Spirit have combined the classic sound of Parisian Hot Club with the swinging vocals of Sara, playing music from the swing and big band era, show tunes and bossa novas.

The band have been together since 2009 and consist of Sara on vocal, who has been performing all over the UK & Europe with various bands & on cruise ships since 2004.

Guitarist Jonny who was named "the English virtuoso" by 'GUITAR' magazine in 2004, has played countless gypsy jazz festivals with the likes of Bireli Lagrene, Lulu Reinhardt, Stochelo Rosenberg, to name a few. Second guitarist Jason, professional for 10 years. A very versatile player who has firmly established his name on the South Coast scene as a top swinging soloist & accompanist. Artists & bands he has played with include Joe Lee Wilson, Hai La Drum & Rockin' In Rhythm. Last but certainly not least, the talented bass player, Dan who has played with, among others, guitar hero John Etheridge, tenor titan Bobby Wellins, former Oscar Peterson drummer Bobby Durham, former McCoy Tyner drummer George Johnson. He also works as a freelance sideman, appeared with Jimmy Scott at Ronnie Scotts, and has been hired for countless recording sessions.

The band caters for weddings, corporate entertainment and private functions, and is always well presented and prompt. They travel with their own high quality compact sound system which takes less than 10 minutes to set up and pack down. The whole outfit fits in one car, making it a convenience in terms of parking spaces, and a reasonably green option. All enquiries will be dealt with efficiently, no waiting for days for a quote. This friendly, cheerful & highly professional bunch will make your event extra special.
