The Standing Waves are a refreshingly different three-piece group from the Surrey area. The band consists of Nicky Mac on Lead Vocals, Jake Rommer on Acoustic Guitar and Backing Vocals, and Sam Rommer on Double Bass and Backing Vocals. The band's dynamic set builds throughout the event mixing sophisticated contemporary arrangements of modern hits and old school classics. Since forming in 2009, the group have been exciting and entertaining audiences around the UK and overseas including weddings, bars, restaurants, high profile events and functions. With a versatile set list, which can be adapted for any event, their cultured blend of original arrangements will create a unique, prefect atmosphere for your function. They have maintained residencies at a number of bars, hotels and restaurants around surrey and London, including Red Bar, Layla, and The George.

Nicky Mac - Lead Vocals: Since performing on stage in musicals such as "Grease" and (comedy spin off) "Sex Drugs Rick n' Noel" Nicky has worked alongside many great producers in London, Spain and New York as a session vocalist. She was interviewed by Radio 1 on the demands of the music industry today and featured on Radio 1 as one of new up-and-coming artists where she performed with a live band. Currently recording an album with a new girl band, Nicky is also fronting the well-established electro-club house band "Cicada" playing gigs worldwide.

Sam Rommer - Bass: Sam is a bass player with over 7 years playing experience. During this time Sam has played with a huge variety of groups from small guitar ensembles right the way through to Big Band Jazz groups. Sam has played at many prestigious venues such as the Dorchester Hotel, The Dorking Halls and Sadler's Wells. Sam's use of the double bass as both a bass and as a drum gives the group a truly unique sound. Sam is also an independent bass teacher in both electric and double bass teaching genres across the board from Jazz to Rock.

Jake Rommer - Acoustic Guitar: Jake has been playing guitar for 11 years. He started out playing blues and rock before extending his repertoire to Jazz and Fusion music after studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music where he achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Music. Jake has written, produced and performed a jazz album which was released for independent sale in mid 2009. Jake performs in a number of projects in various styles including Jazz, Rock and Fusion as well as playing guitar, singing backing vocals and co-creating the arrangements. Jake is also an independent guitar tutor, teaching beginners to advanced in music theory, acoustic guitar and electric guitar.
